Educator, Organizer, Writer, Murid-Allah
Born in exile and raised in the USA, my blood has remained Palestinian. My upbringing in the U.S. South taught me valuable lessons in resilience and resistance. My search for belonging and purpose led me across the world: Turkey, Sierra Leone, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, and Senegal. Throughout my journey, I have been blessed to learn and benefit from the fighting spirit of working-class communities across the globe.
Currently based in Chicago, I continue my work as an educator and a community organizer, struggling for liberation and a higher level of spiritual and political consciousness wherever the Almighty guides my steps.
In my still burgeoning journey, I have worked in settings as diverse as public schools, grassroots organizations, early childhood education centers, international non-profits, as well as higher-education. My work spans efforts and campaigns ranging from Palestinian liberation, food sovereignty, police and prison abolition, health equity, immigrant and refugee rights, and youth leadership development.
Despite the extent of my knowledge and experiences, I have always found that the true experts are those who are most directly impacted by the question at hand.
I center my work on cultivating self-discovery, cross-cultural understanding, collective decision-making, and strategic action in order to transform ourselves and our environments. I embrace creativity and spirituality as powerful tools for envisioning liberation as a unified struggle across many fronts, transcending any single issue or narrow ideology.
I am available for trainings, workshops, consultations, speaking engagements, or even a simple cup of coffee to build together. Feel free to reach out via my contact form.
In addition to various news sources, my words and work have been featured as lead vocals to a musical album and the subject of an award-winning short film.
